World Book Day is fast approaching, on Thursday 6th March. Our theme this year is Bedtime Stories! As part of this, we will have a non-school uniform day of PJs and comfies (although trainers are needed rather than slippers!).
We have done character and themed dress-up events for the last few years and fancied a change for this year. If your child would prefer to dress as their favourite book character as we have done in previous years, they are very welcome to.
This year, we will not be having a parade.
Other events happening on the day are:
• The Big Locking Book Swap Shop – more details about this to come soon!
• Teachers will swap classes and read to another class
• Our English lessons will be looking at the work of author/illustrators Oliver Jeffers and Anthony Browne – keep your eyes peeled for some hall displays which will be created from this
• Classes will take part in book buddies where we meet and read with friends from another class • Prize raffle – read 5 times or more (or complete your Padlet for children in Y5/6) between Friday 28th February and Thursday 6th March to be entered! We’re really looking forward to celebrating the day together – and remembering the importance of hearing stories!
