Locking Primary School is now closed. We remain open between 8am-6pm, Monday-Friday, for children who are identified as vulnerable and children whose parents are critical to the COVID-19 response, as defined in government documentation.
Following a rise in COVID-19 cases in Weston-super-Mare and the precautionary closure of local A&E provision, Trustees have decided to delay the wider reopening of ELAN schools to children in Preschool, YR, Y1 and Y6 by one week.
This will be reviewed by trustees on 4th June. Confirmation of specific year group opening dates, times and procedures will be conveyed to parents and carers following this review

Still deciding where to start school this September?
We have gorgeous grounds, dedicated staff, fun learning and happy children. We have a few places still available, contact us for more information, Mr Connel Boyle is happy to take your call.
As parents or carers, choosing a school for your child can be challenging. Most of us have been through the process ourselves so we understand. We’d like to help you. Come in and meet headteacher Connel. He’ll take you around the school and answer your questions, helping to work through any potential issues and the admissions process if needed.
We are a well-established village school. Village schools help keep communities alive. They are much-loved establishments, at the heart of their community, where people meet each other, form friendships and are places where the community gathers for special occasions.
Being semi-rural with beautiful, natural greenspaces, LPS provides a fresh and clean environment in which to learn and play. We work to prepare our children for secondary school of which there are many to choose from locally. We are well placed to support families with these choices as we work with and have established relationships with all secondary schools in the county and have been continually developing this for many years.
Our children are well supported, are challenged and inspired by our excellent staff, who aim to provide an extraordinary education that brings out the best in all of our young people, regardless of their ability or background. By being a part of Extend Learning Academies Network we work very closely together with our other schools across the area. Because of this we have access to large sports, cultural and arts events. Working together, our teachers are able to consistently broaden their skills in foundation subjects such as art, music and sports/PE.
