Sri Lankan teachers at Locking School.

September 2015

In September we welcomed three teachers from our link school in Sri Lanka, Mahanaga College. They visited all classes sharing craft, the Singh alee language, maths games and PE. It was great to have them with us for harvest and to celebrate our now 8 year link. During their visit many of your children will have experienced their visits to local community.

Groups like, Brownies, Beavers, Guides and even the preschool in Locking were visited and have planned work for the next visit. It is now our aim to broaden the project out to include the community as a whole. By doing this our school will be reaccredited with the British Council International Award. Many thanks for all your support in helping us over the next 12 months to achieve this. Many exciting projects have been planned which we hope you will hear about.

Continuing the good work we wish Mrs Read, Mrs Garfield and Mrs Maspero a good trip as they leave to teach in Sri Lanka in October. They will be sharing understanding of community work, forest schools and how to play rugby, which our visitors were most keen to understand.
